Local business Hurling Hatchet had its last day Saturday before closing its doors.
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Local business Hurling Hatchet celebrated its last day on Saturday before closing its doors. Co-owners Paul Farmer and Mark Mayfield say they loved their time on the corner of Second and State.
The Hurling Hatchet Cedar Valley location opened in 2019, with the previous location being in Cedar Rapids. Owners say it saw steady business for a long time and even came back stronger after the onset of COVID, but now traffic has not been enough to keep it going.
The owners say they are thankful for the outpouring of support they received from the community on their first day as well as their last.
“I just remember our first day when we opened and the excitement,” Mayfield said. “It was really great to have this in the Cedar Valley to promote a friendly atmosphere where people could take out some aggression but have some fun with family and friends also.”
