The leader of the UK’s insurgent Green Party said government shouldn’t be “strangling” business, as he tempered his left-wing bloc’s economic message ahead of nationwide local elections in May.
Speaking to Bloomberg, Zack Polanski — who’s seeking to make gains in six weeks’ time that match his party’s new prominence in polls of voter intention — said businesses were in the best position to innovate, even if politicians should be encouraging them to focus on the battles against climate change and social injustice that are central to the Green agenda.
