OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — Two Miller County men have filed a lawsuit against a business owned by the mayor of Osage Beach.

Eugene Enowski, of Olean, Missouri, and Gary Prewitt, of Eldon, Missouri, filed the petition against Harmison & Stark LLC in Camden County seeking $30,000.

According to the petition, a manager of the company borrowed the money around Feb. 22, 2023, from the plaintiffs as a short-term loan to pay bills.

The lawsuit alleges the manager and Michael Harmison, mayor of Osage Beach, promised to return the money in a short amount of time, around 90 days, to the two men.

The plaintiffs claim in the petition that the business failed and refused to comply with the agreement.

The two men are seeking a judgment against the business for $30,000, attorney fees, and interest from the date of the judgment and for other relief from what the court deems fit in the case.

The City of Osage Beach has released a statement to the public following the petition being filed:

“The Mayor and Board of Aldermen are aware of civil litigation recently filed
against Mayor Harmison’s business and will continue to evaluate information as it becomes available.

Because this matter concerns the private business activities of a City official and not City operations, the City has no further comment at this time.”

Ozarks First has reached out to the office of attorney James Brad York, representing the plaintiffs, who responded with no comment.
