LE MARS, Iowa (KCAU) — March is National Agriculture Month, and in honor of the month, an annual event brought together many people in the Le Mars area to celebrate.
Over 50 people gathered in the Le Mars Convention Center, many of whom were farmers, FFA students, and a variety of agriculture-related businesses.
The luncheon was put on by the Le Mars Chamber of Commerce as a way to celebrate not only agriculture, but also to get the businesses and producers together in one room and learn from each other, while also getting the next generation involved.

“Agriculture touches every single one of us. Whether if you are actually active producing in agriculture or maybe you’re taking your milk off the shelf. So the connection to understand how it gets to point A to point B is really important for youth to understand, and this is a great way to connect to businesses or different groups within that,” said Janelle Johnson, the vice president of the Le Mars Chamber of Commerce Agriculture division.
The Chamber Agri-Business Luncheon has been going on for nearly 30 years, and Johnson said that this year was a great turnout.
