Storm rips roof off of South Carolina business

Now that the storm has passed, reports of damage are coming in. In Gaffney, officials have reported the roof being ripped off of a business.According to Cherokee County Emergency Management, Gaffney Fire responded to a building on West Frederick Street after reports of storm damage Monday morning.The report initially came in as the roof being ripped off of a home.A WYFF News 4 crew on the scene reported that the metal roof was ripped off of Clip & Tails Pet Grooming. Part of the roof is lying on the ground mangled.No injuries have been reported at this time.The inspector placed a sign on the building deeming it unsafe for human occupancy.The damage comes after the area had a tornado warning in effect. The warning was lifted before 9 a.m.Additionally, the National Weather Service reported a roof being ripped off of a building one mile north of Gaffney.In Liberty, Mills Avenue is currently closed at W. Beattie Street due to downed trees and power outages. Drivers are asked to use an alternate route while crews work to clear the roadway and restore power.In Travelers Rest, a section of State Park Road is temporarily closed after a tree fell over the roadway.
