Top-seeded Duke basketball is hoping for
a repeat in Saturday’s ACC championship game.
The Blue Devils beat Louisville in last
year’s championship game and are hoping to do the same against Virginia.
On top of tonight’s championship game, which has a lot of people here in Durham locked in, there is also a show at DPAC
next door.
Local businesses in the area tell WRAL
News they are bracing for a busy night, including at Tobacco Road Sports Café, where
a server said they have a lot of extra staff on the floor.
“It is so much fun,” said Aniya Arnold, a
server at Tobacco Road Sports Café. “It’s actually a lot less overwhelming than
people think, because people stay for the whole game, so you’re not like
rotating tables and having to go crazy and having so many customers. You really
get to focus on the people who are here to enjoy the game.”
Staff say on big game nights like this,
they see a lot of people order appetizers as they work to keep their energy up
for the whole game.
The Blue Devils already beat Virginia once
this year, 77 to 51 back in February, and hope to do it again.
