ENFIELD, CT (WGGB/WSHM) – A Connecticut business owner is set to appear in court on Monday, after he was arrested for not providing required workers’ compensation insurance coverage for his employees.
54-year-old Edgar Villacis Pinto, owner of VIP Janitorial Services, was arrested by state authorities on March 3rd. Investigators allege he failed to carry workers’ comp coverage between November 2024 and May 2025.
Pinto was released on bond ahead of his upcoming court date. If convicted of the felony charge, Pinto faces up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
