Louisville neighborhood facts that you should know
Louisville, Kentucky, has 78 neighborhoods stretching from Shawnee to Okolona. Here’s what you should know about them.
A Louisville staple is closing its doors after more than three decades in the community.
Video Kitchen has served the metro for 34 years, offering a variety of video services from converting and digitizing files to video editing. But on March 31, the locally owned and operated shop will close its doors permanently, according to a March 10 Facebook post by the business.
Video Kitchen will continue to accept tapes through the end of March and may consider extending this service “if we get enough work,” the business commented on Facebook.
In January 2025, the business relocated from its iconic 2307 Bardstown Road location to 907 E. Liberty St. in NuLu.
In the Facebook post, the business pointed to the transition to “our clouds, phones and corporate mail companies” as a reason behind the closing.
Despite the impending loss of Video Kitchen to the city, other local businesses that can help convert tapes, files and photos including The Print Refinery, Pro Media, Murphy’s Camera, and Video Wizard, remain, the post stated.
“Thank you to all of you who shared your memories, stories, laughter and tears,” the Facebook post stated. “Thank you to all the amazing unique and extremely smart people I have had the privilege of working with over the years.”
