Business owners are dealing with the aftermath of a massive fire that tore through a warehouse in northwest Miami-Dade, leaving many without the equipment and inventory they rely on to make a living.
One of those owners, Moshe Daudy, said he began yelling for people to evacuate as flames spread inside the warehouse Thursday.
Daudy said he even went back inside the building to make sure no one was left behind.
“I went back inside again to make sure there was nobody else around. When I got closer to the fire, it was too hot, it almost burned my face,” he said.

Daudy owns RDM Security, a security technology company. One of his clients is Global Warehouse Solutions, a company that operates the large warehouse where small business owners could store items and manage inventory.
Like many others who rented space there, Daudy said he lost valuable equipment in the fire.
“I had my laptop over there, all the gear that you need to do low-voltage security and everything. So everything went in the fire,” he said.
Daudy said he has been in business for more than two decades, but without his tools, he cannot work.
“When you have no tools, you’re backed up with work, and I’ve already had two clients who canceled on me,” he said.
He estimates he lost tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment. As a father of four girls, he said the loss has left him worried about what comes next.
“I’m a small business. My equipment, all my tools, is a lot of money … it’s gone, it’s all gone,” Daudy said.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews continue to work to extinguish deep-seated hot spots following the blaze. Several agencies are also monitoring air quality in the area.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe has been created to help Daudy recover from the loss and get his business back on its feet.
