The Sendik’s Fresh2GO store in Hales Corners will close later this week, the grocery chain confirmed.
The small grocery store, 5101 S. 108th St., opened in Hales Corners in 2017. It is one of four Sendik’s Fresh2GO locations in the Milwaukee area, according to the company’s website. The store shares a building with a Mobil gas station; village officials told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the gas pumps at the gas station will continue operating.
A marketing communications representative for Sendik’s said the store’s last day will be Thursday, March 5. Employees at the Hales Corners location will be transferred to other Sendik’s stores in the area and will not lose their jobs, the company said.
The store has 16 employees, some full-time and some part-time, the company said.
Sendik’s said the decision to close the store was based on business performance.
“We’re simply not seeing the business results needed to warrant continuing the operation,” the company said in a statement.
Sendik’s encouraged customers to continue shopping at its other locations.
