Dorignac’s Food Center in Metairie is open for business the morning after an SUV drove through the building, the grocery store confirmed Wednesday morning.
The only portion of the store that remains closed Wednesday is the cafeteria seating area.
The crash occurred just after 6 p.m. Tuesday when a Ford Expedition slammed into the wall of the cafeteria at the front of the store, located at 710 Veterans Memorial Blvd, authorities and store owners said.
The driver of the SUV was hospitalized, but no injuries were reported inside the store.
Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt. Brandon Veal said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
