The wearable maker plans to add more than 600 roles in 2026, nearly doubling its workforce as CEO Will Ahmed says Whoop “intends to own” the health-monitoring category

Wearable giant Whoop is nearly doubling its workforce in an ambitious new hiring push, with plans to add more than 600 new roles to its almost 800-person team.

The new positions, which will be opened throughout 2026, will span its software, research and design, hardware and marketing teams as the wellness tech brand looks to scale rapidly.

The expansion is a part of Whoop’s new employer campaign that fuels its commitment to building the best team possible for its global growth plans.

“Right now, companies are debating whether to hire more people or just invest in AI,” said Whoop founder and CEO Will Ahmed. “We are doing both. We are doubling down on exceptional talent and doubling down on world-class AI tools because the combination is what wins.”

“Health monitoring is becoming one of the most important platforms in the world, and Whoop intends to own the category,” he added.

Whoop revealed that its hiring process is highly selective, with one hire for every 750 applicants — that’s a 0.13% acceptance rate, underscoring its claim that it is seeking out world-class talent.

The new roles are an investment in the brand’s hardware innovation, advanced research, product development and global brand growth. The majority of new roles will be based at the company’s Boston headquarters, with additional hiring across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Whoop is hoping to bring on new hires whose values align with the company’s, such as a commitment to unlocking and optimizing human performance and healthspan, the company said.

Its screenless wearable is known for collecting metrics and providing insights on sleep, recovery, strain, fitness and long-term wellbeing, featuring an FDA-cleared ECG, a healthspan longevity feature, blood pressure insights and blood biomarker analysis.

Whoop’s hiring expansion arrives as the brand continues growing its global footprint, last year partnering with Dubai-based developer Wasl Group to bring its tech into the wellness real estate industry.

More recently, the brand revealed plans to push deeper into the professional athlete space, adding Ferrari’s F1 team and Saudi soccer club Al Nassr to its pro sports portfolio.
