ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The year 2025 was tough for farms in the region recovering from Helene damage.
The Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) held its annual Business of Farming Conference to provide resources to those recovering.

The event was held at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College.
The organization wants farmers and homesteaders to know it is there to offer financial tools to help improve businesses.

“Really learning how to pivot, learning how to find new market outlets, and really learned to plan for crises like this and all of that is covered in workshops that we do at the business of farming conference for market outlets planning for resilience, disaster planning, that kind of thing,” said Sarah Hart, the director of communications and engagement for ASAP.
