Police are looking for one or two suspects who have been robbing local businesses while armed.

The robberies happened around 8 p.m. the past two days, each by a 20-something year-old man wearing dark clothing and a face mask. On both nights, a man brandished a gun and demanded cash at a pair of nearby businesses.

The first happened Tuesday along the 4100 block of Four Mile Run Drive, roughly between Columbia Pike and Shirlington.

From an Arlington County Police Department crime report:

ROBBERY (Series), 2026-02240253/2026-02240254, 4100 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. At approximately 7:56 p.m. on February 24, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, displayed a firearm and demanded the employee open the cash register. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash and then directed his attention towards a customer and demanded cash while displaying a firearm. When the customer told the suspect they did not have cash, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Shortly thereafter, the suspect entered a neighboring business, displayed a firearm and demanded the employee open the cash register. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash and subsequently fled the scene. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a White Hispanic male, approximately 5’5” tall, approximately 24 years old, wearing all black clothing and a face covering. The investigation is ongoing.

The second robbery series happened last night (Wednesday) in the Buckingham neighborhood. Responding officers spotted someone in the area who matched the suspect’s description, but they were able to run off and elude arrest.

From the crime report:

ROBBERY/ATTEMPTED ROBBERY (Series), 2026-02250260/2026-02250261, 4200 block of N. Pershing Drive/300 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 8:19 p.m. on February 25, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered a business in the 4200 block of N. Pershing Drive, approached an employee at the counter as well as another victim inside the business and brandished what appeared to be a firearm. The suspect demanded cash and subsequently fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then entered another business in the 300 block of N. Glebe Road, approached employees, threatened them with a firearm and demanded cash. The employees ran from the scene and the suspect fled on foot. No injuries were reported from either incident. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers observed an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area of 4th Street N. and N. Thomas Street. The individual then ran from the area and officers were not able to locate him. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 20-30 years old, 5’6”-5’10”, wearing all black clothing and a face covering. The investigation is ongoing.

ACPD did not specify in the crime report whether they believe last night’s robberies are linked to the previous night’s.
