VICTORVILLE, Calif. (KABC) — A local businesswoman is sharing her story of how she transformed her life — from an abusive childhood, to being homeless, to becoming the founder of a growing Black-owned skincare brand.

With each new order and every label she prints, Alyssiah Robinson isn’t just shipping skincare products, she’s sending out a story of resilience, healing and purpose.

The Victorville mother of five is the founder and CEO of Purfect Skyn, a natural skincare brand born out of necessity when her young son began suffering from severe eczema.

“The focus was really my baby at the time,” Robinson said. “He was having a lot of cracking, bleeding and eczema, so I wanted to figure out a natural solution.”

But long before Robinson became a mother of five and a business owner, she was a child navigating abuse, instability and the foster care system. That early adversity became the driving force behind her determination to pursue an education and ultimately use what she learned to help her family.

When her son’s skin condition worsened, Robinson was hesitant to rely on harsh products.

“I didn’t want something that was too harsh for his skin,” she said. “I wanted something that was going to provide the nutrients that it needed.”

What followed was four years of research, testing ingredients and experimenting with blends. The result was Purfect Skyn, a line of skincare products designed to be gentle, nourishing and effective.

“It was incredible just to see how fast it worked,” Robinson said. “To see that and think, ‘I figured it out.'”

What began as a solution for one child has since grown into a business, and for Robinson, a way to reclaim her story. She says building Purfect Skyn is about more than entrepreneurship; it’s about breaking cycles of trauma and creating a future she once could only imagine.

“Really, the greatest gift to me as a mother now is that none of my kids had to go through what I went through. That’s when I know I did it right,” Robinson said
