The investment round was led by U.S. media and entertainment firm Alignment Growth, with continued backing from existing shareholders.
The newly raised capital will fuel the next stage of development for both the Kings League and the Queens League, with a strong focus on international expansion, including an upcoming launch in the United States.
In 2025 alone, the Kings ecosystem has rolled out five new regional leagues, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, and the Europe, Middle East and Africa (MENA) region, while also introducing a new Nations World Cup.
On the media front, the Kings League continues to post eye-catching numbers.
The competition has surpassed 150 million hours of live-streamed viewing and generated more than 13 billion impressions across its official social media platforms, cementing its status as one of the world’s most-watched sports properties on digital platforms.
Piqué, the league’s founder and president, said the project “has become a global movement, built natively for the digital generation.”
He added that Alignment Growth brings “exceptional experience in media and entertainment,” and that the partnership will help the league scale faster, reach new audiences, and explore expansion into additional sports.
CEO Djamel Agaoua welcomed the funding, noting that it will allow the Kings League to accelerate its international rollout, continue innovating its competition format, and pursue strategic M&A opportunities aligned with its long-term vision.
Kevin Tsujihara, co-founder and managing partner at Alignment Growth, said the investment reflects the firm’s confidence in digitally native sports competitions, which he believes are uniquely positioned for sustained growth as younger audiences reshape how they discover and engage with sports.
To date, the Kings League has raised more than $160 million in total funding, enabling partnerships with global brands such as Adidas, Fortnite, Netflix, Spotify, and Visa, alongside broadcast deals with DAZN, ESPN, and Disney+.
Kings Competition SLU, the operating company behind the Kings League and the Queens League, reported €20.54 million in revenue and net profit of €355,915 in its first full fiscal year, according to financial statements reviewed by Palco23, a subsidiary of Mundo Deportivo.
