Dulcis™, the 100% Italian premium green kiwi, is undergoing rapid development. In the current 2025/26 season, sales are exceeding expectations, says the company, driven by an increase in both cultivated acreage and available volumes.
This evolution has allowed the brand to consolidate its presence in its original Italian market while simultaneously supporting a carefully-planned expansion abroad.
The variety has already hit produce aisles in Portugal, Spain, Scandinavia, and the United Kingdom, with regular programs launched with several retailers.
Market expansion for Dulcis
The next step for this kiwifruit goes beyond Europe, as the brand is arriving on shelves in the United Arab Emirates, starting with Dubai.
“Following the initial feedback from test supplies, we want to build a more structured and continuous presence, consistent with the growth in acreage and volumes, and with the goal of making Dulcis™ increasingly available beyond Italian borders,” says Mirco Montefiori, President of Dulcis Kiwifruit Company.
Developed by bio-science enterprise New Plant in collaboration with the University of Udine and the University of Bologna, Dulcis™ is a green-fleshed kiwi distinguished by a unique flavor profile, featuring high sweetness, juiciness, and a harmonious balance between sugars and acidity.
