Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce has selected a local entrepreneur and philanthropist as its 2026 Springfieldian — Doug Pitt.
Pitt was honored at the conclusion of the Chamber’s annual meeting on Friday, Jan. 30. The Chamber’s highest honor, presented annually, recognizes “an individual whose service, leadership and commitment have elevated the Springfield community,” according to a Chamber news release.
Pitt is the founder and owner of Pitt Technology Group, a professional tech services firm, and Pitt Development Group, a specialist in build-to-suit commercial and land developments. He also founded Care to Learn, a nonprofit that ensures students’ health, hunger and hygiene needs are met, in 2008. Since then, the organization has only continued to grow serving more students across more than 45 chapters.
In the release, the Chamber highlighted how Pitt has leveraged his leadership and entrepreneurial success to give back to the community. He has also contributed his expertise globally to organizations like WorldServe International and Enactus and having served as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Republic of Tanzania.
Pitt has also served as the chair of the Chamber and currently serves on the Great Southern Bancorp Inc. Board of Directors.
While known in Springfield for all his local business and philanthropic accomplishments, Doug Pitt is known more broadly as the brother of actor Brad Pitt.
