The first two years of our new strategy were about setting the foundation — reestablishing our brand and simplifying our sites (remember how we had two websites at the beginning of 2024?!).
Since then, we’ve refined our coverage (first business, tech, and innovation, and now Big Bets), and our newsroom is landing more scoops than ever (788 last year!). We’ve made great progress building a resilient and sustainable business to support our journalism, reducing our sensitivity to traffic and leaning into areas like Events. Beyond exceeding targets, the Events team is doing exactly what we hoped they would do: deepening relationships and extending our journalism into the real world.
While the work to sharpen and polish is ongoing, we’re already seeing results. Traffic has been healthy and steady since August — a rarity in the industry — and return visits are 12% higher than the previous 6 months. Which is a great start to a year that’s all about engagement!
As we look ahead, our 2026 goals are clear:
1) Build a resilient, sustainable business by meeting our financial goals. (Hit Goals!)
2) Make Business Insider a daily routine for our core audience. (Engagement!)
There’s more to do, but we are making incredible progress, and I’m so grateful for everyone at Business Insider’s resilience, grit, and passion.
