COLUMBUS, Ohio — Six new business projects proposed by JobsOhio have received approval from the Ohio Tax Credit Authority, including two in Cuyahoga County, with officials promising the creation of nearly 350 new jobs and the retention of more than 250 statewide.
According to a news release from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s office, CSA America Testing & Certification LLC expects to create 97 full-time jobs with the expansion of its office operations in Brecksville and Independence. The jobs should create more than $9.2 million in new payroll.
The proposed project involves a significant expansion of U.S. head office operations as well as growing its research and testing footprint in Ohio. The OTCA approved a 1.619% percent, eight-year job creation tax credit for the project.
CSA Group provides testing, inspection and certification services for products from multiple market sectors. It also offers safety and environmental certification.
In Solon, Rupes USA Inc. plans to add 53 full-time jobs with the purchase of a facility to support manufacturing, distribution, training and future growth. The new jobs are expected to add $2.6 million in annual payroll.
Rupes received a 1.138%, six-year job creation tax credit from the OTCA. The company provides professional tools and vacuum systems, focusing on research and development, patents and worker safety.
The projects are expected to result in more than $29.4 million in new payroll and generate over $56 million in investments across Ohio.
Other projects that received tax credits:
Aerospace Lubricants LLC: The company based in Columbus expects to create 15 full-time jobs and generate $1.38 million in payroll for its expansion project. TCA approved a 1.175%, six-year credit for the project.
Stewart Glass LLC: Based in Logan, the company expects to create 105 new full-time jobs, generating more than $8.2 million in payrol. The proposed project involves a new pattern glass production facility. TCA approved a 1.56%, eight-year tax credit.
Aurrigo International Inc.: The company expects to create 28 new full-time jobs and more than $3 million in new payroll to establish a permanent location in Cincinnati that will initially consist of research and development space for autonomous airport ground operation vehicles and associated control systems. TCA approved a 1.423%, seven-year tax credit.
Katz 1899 Inc.: The Dayton company expects to create 50 new full-time jobs, generating more than $4.7 million payroll with its joint venture with Ohio-based Peck Hannaford & Briggs Co. to establish a new manufacturing hub. TCA approved a 1.647%, eight-year tax credit for the project.
