A Norwalk-based building products manufacturer backed by a private-equity firm announced it has acquired a Maine-based maker of water-management materials used in wall and roof construction.
US Masonry and Building Products said it purchased York Flashings LLC, which manufactures metal and membrane flashing products designed to seal joints and channel moisture out of building walls to help prevent water damage. York’s products are used in commercial, institutional and residential construction.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
USMBP is a portfolio company of Kinderhook Industries, which invested in the company in 2024. The deal is USMBP’s third acquisition since that investment and expands its offerings in building-envelope and moisture-control products, according to the company.
Founded in 1968, USMBP makes masonry and concrete accessories, including anchors, fasteners, flashing and wall-system components sold to contractors, distributors and manufacturers.
The company operates multiple brands — including Heckmann, Wej-It, TOGGLER and Cheney Flashing — and has facilities in Norwalk and several other states, including New York, South Carolina, Maryland, Texas and Maine.
