The latest closure in Dallas-Fort Worth’s restaurant industry is a patio bar that’s been a go-to for revelers in Deep Ellum for nearly a decade.
A post on the Instagram page for Dot’s Hop House and Cocktail Courtyard said Feb. 1 will be the bar’s last day in business.
A reason for the closure was not shared, and the bar’s owners could not immediately be reached for comment.
Dot’s Hop House opened in 2016 with 119 craft beers and cocktails on tap, and a 10,000-square-foot courtyard illuminated by a massive chandelier adorned with 65,000 glass beads.

Dot’s is one of the businesses that’s been impacted by street closures on Commerce Street due to an extensive road reconstruction project.
“You have to be super motivated to come here,” said Dan Murry, co-owner of Ruins, which is one door over from Dot’s. “If it’s such a pain in the ass to get in your front door, why would people come?”
Dot’s Hop House is located at 2645 Commerce St., Dallas. It is set to close Feb. 1, 2026.
