The longtime Pizza Hut in Elizabethtown has closed and the building is now being offered for lease.
The Pizza Hut at 900 N. Hanover St., which debuted in 1977, was shuttered this week. A recorded voicemail for the restaurant said it was closed and numerous social media posts mentioned the restaurant’s closure, including one with a video of someone removing its sign.
The 2,300-square-foot restaurant building is now listed for lease by Bennett Williams, a York-based commercial real estate brokerage.
The Pizza Hut in Elizabethtown was operated by Chaac Foods, a Texas-based company that bought its Pennsylvania Pizza Hut franchises in 2020, according to its website. No one from Chaac Foods returned a message seeking comment on the closure of the Elizabethtown Pizza Hut.
Chaac Foods also operates the five remaining Pizza Huts in Lancaster County which are in Ephrata, Lancaster city, New Holland, Willow Street and Centerville.
The former Pizza Hut property on Hanover Street is owned by Salvatore and Maria Caretti, who have owned several pizza restaurants in Elizabethtown, including Pizza Town and My Place Pizza. The Carettis did not return a phone message seeking comment.
