Suzlon Group has on Monday appointed Paulo Fernando Soares as President – Europe, strengthening its global leadership as part of the company’s Suzlon 2.0 strategy aimed at accelerating international growth.
Soares will head Suzlon’s European operations with responsibility for building regional capabilities, forging strategic partnerships, deepening customer engagement and expanding market access across the continent.
His mandate also includes creating a strong organisational framework to support long-term business growth. Suzlon currently operates in 17 countries worldwide.
Previous stints
With nearly 40 years of experience in the wind energy sector, Soares has played a role in developing businesses across major markets including Germany, Brazil, China and Spain.
He has worked with several leading Western and Asian wind OEMs across business development, sales, and operations. Soares had earlier spent five years with Suzlon, where he was instrumental in establishing the company’s Asian operations.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group, said Europe represented a key opportunity for the company.
“We are happy to welcome Paulo back as Suzlon accelerates its global ambitions. Europe is one of the largest wind energy markets, and his deep knowledge of technology and customers across multiple geographies will greatly support our global growth strategy,” he said.
Soares said he was looking forward to rejoining the company. “Suzlon has been one of the earliest trailblazers in the wind industry and has a strong track record with world-class technology. This foundation will help us expand market share further and contribute meaningfully to the global energy transition,” he said.
The leadership move signals Suzlon’s renewed focus on international markets at a time when Europe is ramping up wind capacity to meet decarbonisation targets and reduce energy dependence.
