A former Waukesha County correctional officer is accused of assaulting a girl investigators said he considered his “adoptive daughter” multiple times at his business.Codey Houdek, 32, is charged with three counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child under 13. According to a criminal complaint, the child’s mother reported the assault to police on Dec. 26 but said it happened in the summer of 2024 at Houdek’s business, Stumpies Securities Agency at South West Avenue and Sentinel Drive in Waukesha. Her daughter turned 11 years old that July. At the time, her mother told police her daughter would spend every other weekend and some weekdays with Houdek. The mother told investigators she met Houdek through a mutual friend and saw him as a “positive male role model” for her daughter. The two lived at Houdek’s house in Racine for a few months when they moved from Florida in 2020. The complaint said Houdek and the mother were never in a romantic relationship.Houdek goes by the nickname “Stumpie” because of a leg amputation, according to the complaint. The mother told police she caught her daughter watching pornography, and when she asked why, her daughter replied “‘because of what Stumpie did to her.'” She then told her mother about three sexual encounters she had with Houdek, the complaint said.The child told investigators she spent so much time at Houdek’s home she even had her own room and items bought for her, including “a PlayStation, an Xbox, a television, a Nintendo system, shoes, clothes, a bed, and Apple Watch.” But the girl said “things changed” after Houdek and his wife had a baby together. The girl’s mother also said Houdek “became very worried about germs and didn’t want (her daughter) playing with the baby.”When Houdek was arrested, police seized his iPhone. The complaint said “the lock screen had a photograph on it depicting the defendant with his wife and (the victim). (The detective) found this extremely odd, as he was aware (Houdek) has his own child, approximately two years old, and still had not seen or talked to (the victim) in over a year.” Police said they found another cellphone inside Houdek’s desk where the child was also the lock screen background.The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department told WISN 12 News Houdek briefly worked as a correctional officer.
