One of Liberty Township’s busiest business districts was hit with a power outage Friday morning.
According to FirstEnergy, more than 1000 homes and businesses were without electricity after 10:30 a.m.
The outage included an area stretching from Colonial Drive to Mosier Road, including a portion of Belmont Avenue.
By 10:45 a.m., the number of outages had been reduced to 225.
Trumbull 911 dispatchers tell 21 News that a tree fell at around 9 a.m., blocking the road and bringing down wires.
Jimmy’s Italian Specialties on Belmont Avenue posted a Facebook video explaining to customers how they were trying to cope with the outage.
FirstEnergy has crews on the scene and estimates that power would be restored by early Friday afternoon.
