CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Charleston Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin is highlighting business growth.
Along with plans involving the Town Center Mall, Goodwin mentioned new developments in parts of Charleston, such as Kanawha City.
We looked into businesses that filed for permits in the last six months.
Some of those include: a drive-thru coffee shop called Buzzin Coffee on MacCorkle Avenue, a Jersey Mike’s and a Chipotle–listed at 206 Kanawha Mall– near Gabe’s.
Bourbon Street Bistro is a local business that held their grand opening on Monday in Charleston.
Executive chef Paul Ramsey said it’s wonderful to see new developments in the city.
“Charleston, it seems like has lost a lot of businesses here, in it seems like the last 10 years,” Ramsey said. “And especially in some of the classic restaurants here in Charleston. Here at the bistro we are hoping to definitely fill some of that void with something different.”
Ramsey said that the Charleston community is very supportive and prospective businesses have the chance to do well.
As we learn more about the opening dates for these new businesses, we will keep you updated.
