COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person was shot and killed at a northwest Columbus business Monday night in what police are investigating as a possible attempted robbery.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, officers were dispatched to a business in the 2900 block of Hayden Road around 11:35 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive adult suffering from a gunshot wound. The person was taken to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead shortly after midnight.
Police say the shooting occurred inside a business. Two people were detained after police said they identified themselves as having shot the person.
The two detained people claimed self-defense in the shooting, according to police. Investigators are working to determine whether the deceased person was involved in an attempted robbery inside the business.
The shooting is under investigation.
