BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – The Baton Rouge Police Department says a man was arrested after a robbery and shootout outside a Baton Rouge business earlier this month.
According to arrest documents, 29-year-old Jackie Jackson Jr. was outside the Neighborhood Snack House on Annette Street on Jan. 2 when he allegedly pulled out a gun and demanded money from another person.
Investigators said the victim handed over $20, but Jackson reportedly fired several shots. The victim then pulled out their own gun and shot Jackson in the abdomen, according to police.
Jackson later drove himself to the hospital and was taken into custody after receiving treatment.
Jackson was booked on charges of attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery with a firearm, authorities said.
