MAGNOLIA, New Jersey (WPVI) — “All good things must come to an end,” said the owners of AAA Hobbies and Crafts, a family business that dates back to a basement in the 1950s.
Michael and Alan Bass, a father-and-son duo, are co-owners of the store on the White Horse Pike in Magnolia.
Michael’s parents had been in the hobby business since the 1950s.
From the basement, to the Berlin Farmer’s Market, to the Cherry Hill Mall, their budding business was just beginning.
In the early 1980s, they purchased their current brick-and-mortar location. Then, they opened under the name ‘AAA Hobbies and Crafts’ in 1983.
And after long conversations with family, they announced that 2026 will be their last year in business.
They will remain open throughout the 2025 holiday season and will sell down their supply over several months in 2026.
The family says they would be open to speaking to anyone if they are interested in purchasing the business, but their ‘Plan A’ is to sell down and close their doors.
