aum
financial
Assets under management (AUM) is the total market value of investments that a financial firm or fund manages on behalf of clients. Investors watch AUM like the size of a shop: larger AUM can mean more fee revenue, greater market influence and perceived stability, while rapid changes in AUM signal growing popularity or redemptions that may affect future earnings and investment strategy.
quantitative investment strategies
financial
A systematic approach that uses mathematical rules, statistical models and large sets of data to pick, weight and trade investments — like following a recipe or computer program instead of relying on human hunches. Investors care because these strategies can process far more information than a person, enforce discipline, reduce emotional decisions and target specific goals or risks, but their success depends on the model’s design and the quality of the data.
growth equity
financial
Growth equity is a type of investment where outside investors provide capital to established, revenue-generating companies to accelerate expansion—think of giving a proven small business funds to open many new locations. Investors usually take a minority stake and aim to profit as the company grows in value without changing its core control. For investors, growth equity balances higher return potential than safe bonds with lower risk than early-stage startups, affecting valuation, ownership dilution and future exit prospects.
