Baystate Health announces the appointment of Dr. Matthew D. Di Guglielmo, as the new chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Baystate Health and pediatrician-in-chief at Baystate Children’s Hospital.

Di Guglielmo joins Baystate Health after six years as chief of the Division of General Academic Pediatrics at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Delaware, where he also served as a clinical professor of pediatrics at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

A graduate of Brown University, he earned his M.D. and Ph.D from Jefferson Medical College. He completed his pediatric residency training at Nemours/Thomas Jefferson University and has been a faculty physician there for the past 14 years.

He directed the Academic General Pediatrics Fellowship at Nemours, earned national recognition for his expertise in mentoring, and advanced pediatric health care delivery, obesity science and infant microbiome exploration through his clinical research. His work has been recognized with numerous awards for teaching, mentorship, and leadership.

Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts announces the appointment of four local professionals to its Board of Directors: Sylvia Callan of Hatfield, Jessica Holloway of Feeding Hills, Traci Talbert of Springfield, and Danielle Williams of Wilbraham.

Callan is a senior portfolio manager at Gage-Wiley & Co. with over two decades of experience in investment management, spanning hedge funds, institutional investment, and wealth management. Callan serves as a member of the Ned Davis Research Advisory Board. Since 2024, she has also dedicated her time as a volunteer for the Investment Committee at the Community Foundation.

Holloway joined The Jamrog Group in 2014 after working as an investment consultant at MassMutual’s corporate headquarters. She is a certified financial planner. Holloway was named a BusinessWest “40 Under 40” honoree in 2023 and received the MassMutual Foundation Community Service Award in 2025 in recognition of her contributions to Girls on the Run Western Massachusetts, where she now serves as board chair. She has also served on the Philanthropic Services Committee for the Community Foundation since 2023.

Talbert is an adjunct professor at Bay Path University and Cambridge College, where she teaches courses in diversity in the workplace, operations management, business leadership and business ethics. She currently serves as the racial justice community engagement director at the Franklin County Community Development Corp. Talbert is the founder of the African American Female Professor Awards Association, now celebrating its ninth year. She is also a volunteer tennis coach with the Urban Tennis Program.

Williams is the presiding justice of the Holyoke District Court. She is the second woman and the first Black woman to hold this position in Holyoke. She first took office as a district court judge in 2020. Williams earned her Juris Doctorate from Western New England University School of Law. She began her legal career in the office of the Hampden County District Attorney as a victim-witness advocate and later served as assistant clerk-magistrate in the Springfield District Court. She has also served as an assistant attorney general in Attorney General Maura T. Healey’s Government Bureau; as an associate with the Northampton law firm of Fierst, Bloomberg, Ohm LLP; and as an assistant district attorney in Hampden County.

Williams is a founding board member of the Springfield Prep Charter School, former president of the Greater Springfield chapter of The Links Incorporated, member of the Bay Path University Board of Trustees, and member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. Additionally, she has served on the Board of Community Legal Aid and the Women’s Fund of Western Mass, and completed the Scott Hawkins Leadership Academy, offered through The Links Incorporated.

Shriners Children’s New England announces physiatrist Dr. Jennifer Earle Miller as a new member of their medical team. She has expertise in the rehabilitation of individuals with amputations and limb differences, cerebral palsy, and other causes of gait abnormality, spasticity and low muscle tone. Miller is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Miller graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Albany Medical College’s combined seven-year BS-MD program. Miller’s residency training at Harvard Medical School and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston coincided with the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013, an experience that helped to shape her career. She provided acute amputee care for survivors and helped them acclimate to the use of prosthetic devices.

Miller went on to work at Albany Medical Center, where she helped amputees of all ages restore or optimize their mobility. She also created and led a multidisciplinary clinic for children with cerebral palsy. Miller identifies non-surgical interventions to help her patients achieve the activities that are important to them.

Miller also is an associate professor and director of the disability curriculum at Albany Medical College. She also serves on national education committees with the Association of Academic Physiatrists.
