ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — As Black Friday winds down, small business owners across metro Atlanta are preparing for crowds on Small Business Saturday.
“It’s fun to get those good sales but you just don’t want to load up and remember what the season is all about,” said Vicki Davis, the owner of the Children’s Shop in the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center.
Davis spent Friday helping her customers and preparing her store for Small Business Saturday.
“Taking the extra time, going 110% for everyone who walks in, getting to know people, getting to know their families, their names, their sizes,” said Davis.
Just across the parking lot, Holeman and Finch is also getting ready.
“Every little bit helps in the success of a small business,” said bourbon specialist, Jason Furr.
Furr says Small Business Saturday helps make their whole season.
“It’s about building relationships with your customers but also with the community,” said Furr.
Shoppers say they’re glad to support small businesses and the locals they employ.
“I’m just a hands-on person. I’d rather do it in person definitely supporting locals instead of buying it on Amazon,” said Gene Rice who was shopping with his wife, Isabel.
So now, as Black Friday winds down, these local small businesses hope their customers are ready to shop with them tomorrow.
“I think it just gives the support where everything starts and that’s small,” said Davis.
“Visit your local eateries visit your local shops shop local,” said Furr.
