The Hype Magazine proudly announces Dr. Natasha Weems, DNP, AGPCNP-BC, as its newest Lifestyle and Health Correspondent. She will cover red carpets, exclusive events, and cultural moments. She will also host the magazine’s on-screen segment “What’s Hype About Health.”
Born and raised in Detroit, Dr. Weems brings more than two decades of experience in healthcare. She has been a registered nurse since 2009 and a nurse practitioner since 2014. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Wayne State University and a BSN, MSN, and DNP from Oakland University. Her training in communication, nursing, and advanced practice shapes her voice as a leader in wellness and media.
As the owner of Care First Wellness Med Spa in Temecula, California, and founder of the Pearl Health Foundation, a nonprofit focused on mental health and autism awareness, Dr. Weems has built a strong presence in wellness, media, and philanthropy. She previously served Detroit’s underserved communities by building food distribution programs that provided hot meals, care items, and consistent support to families in need. Her work is grounded in authenticity, compassion, and lived experience.
Her foundation extends her mission globally. She supports communities in Sierra Leone through health education, empowerment initiatives, and donations of medical supplies and equipment. She also hosts the Unboxed and Fearless Podcast, where she highlights powerful stories of resilience, purpose, and positive representation.
She has covered major cultural events including the Global Peace Summit, the Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards, and high-profile red carpet premieres. Her interviews include political figures, actors, musicians, and cultural innovators. She also covers select film festivals, spotlighting projects that elevate creative voices. As an author, she brings a narrative lens to her work, blending media, advocacy, and storytelling with ease.
Now entering the entertainment space with intention, Dr. Weems brings a unique blend of expertise and presence to The Hype Magazine’s event coverage. Her interviews spotlight innovators in beauty, culture, health, and lifestyle. Her approach is sharp, heartfelt, and culturally relevant.
“It is with true dedication and intent I’ll pursue my desire to make a difference in the lives of young women across the world and particularly in my hometown Detroit,” said Dr. Weems. “Women who have been perpetually pushed aside and often forgotten by society. I believe it is my purpose to help them recognize their strength and fortitude.”
A woman of faith and purpose, Dr. Weems continues to mentor nurses, support the homeless, and empower survivors of abuse as they rebuild their confidence and pursue meaningful careers.
