The Citadel’s Baker School of Business is proud to announce 28 new recipients of the Moody Professional Development Grant, bringing the total number of scholars to 46. These students exemplify academic excellence, leadership and a commitment to professional growth and service.
Established through a $1 million endowment from the late O.L. Moody in 2012, the Moody Professional Development Grant is a cornerstone of the Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business’s experiential learning initiatives at The Citadel. The program identifies high-potential students majoring in accounting, finance, management, marketing and business development, and supply chain management, providing financial support for activities that enhance career readiness. Since its inception, the grant has awarded more than $200,000 to help students gain meaningful professional experience.
Each recipient receives up to $1,000 annually for approved professional development opportunities such as conferences, internships, certifications, professional memberships or study abroad. Eligibility is based on a minimum 3.0 GPA, active participation in professional organizations, service and a personal essay outlining the student’s goals and development plan.
“The Moody Professional Development Grant is a testament to our commitment to preparing students for dynamic professional careers,” said Iordanis Karagiannidis, Ph.D., associate dean of the Baker School of Business. “This program offers opportunities for our students to develop critical skills, expand their networks and gain exposure to experiences that shape their future success.”
Working closely with faculty mentors, the 28 new Moody Scholars will pursue experiences that align with their career ambitions, continuing the tradition of excellence established by the Moody endowment.
