Tim Hanley, former acting Keyes Dean of the College of Business Administration, was honored with the Distinguished Citizen Award by the Scouting America Three Harbors Council.
The Distinguished Citizen Award is presented annually by the Scouting America Three Harbors Council to a leading corporate, civic or community leader in the Greater Milwaukee Area. First established in 1987, past award recipients have included CEOS, prominent elected officials and religious leaders.
Hanley was presented with the award at the Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 20, in Milwaukee’s Pfister Hotel.
Hanley, Bus Ad ’78, served as the acting Keyes Dean of the College of Business Administration from 2020 to 2024. During that time, he oversaw the construction of Dr. E.J. and Margaret O’Brien Hall, the college’s new home that opened in January 2023. The 100,000-square-foot, $60 million building is the largest fully donor-funded construction project in Marquette’s history. Under Hanley’s leadership, the number of first-year students in the college grew from 270 in fall 2021 to a record 499 in fall 2024.
