TULSA, Okla. — Applications for the first Cox Spanish Small Business Leadership Academy at Tulsa Community College are now open.
The free program will last for 10 weeks and aims to help Spanish-speaking owners of small businesses hone their operations, management and leadership skills so their businesses continue to grow and thrive in the Tulsa area.
In 2022, Cox Communications helped establish the Cox Small Business Leadership Academy and this new program aims to expand the program to Spanish speakers.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our business community and Cox Communications, which includes Cox Business and Cox Media, takes great pride in lending our support,” said Roger Ramseyer, the Vice President and Tulsa Market Leader of Cox Communications. “Building upon the success of the four previous cohorts of small business leaders, the 2026 Cox Spanish Small Business Leadership Academy is certain to enhance the success of the participants’ businesses, while also strengthening our own supply chain and accelerating the growth of small businesses in northeast Oklahoma.”
The Cox Small Business Leadership Academy is administered by TCC Continuing Education and will cover topics such as cash management, digital marketing, negotiation, and business strategy.
TCC Vice President of Workforce Development Pete Selden said, “The Cox Small Business Leadership Academy continues to be a powerful resource for local entrepreneurs. Through our partnership with Cox Communications, we are equipping small business owners with the tools, strategies, and confidence they need to grow their business and contribute to a stronger local economy.”
Everyone who graduates the Cox Spanish Small Business Leadership Academy will receive three Continuing Education Units along with a certificate.
The academy will run from Jan. 21 to April 1 and meet every Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the TCC Education Outreach Center in Tulsa.
The application deadline is Dec. 5 and only 20 participants will be enrolled.
