One person is still hospitalized due to an unrelated medical issue.

The ammonia leak came from the roof of the ammonia system on the top of Taylor Farms. The ammonia then leaked into the building, according to the North Kingstown fire chief.

This is not a first for the business, in 2020 there was a similar ammonia leak that sent 13 people to the hospital. The business was then faced with a federal fine of $650,000 in 2023.

That’s not all, past incident reports show several OSHA violations. Some including things like employees failing to keep an area clean or other safety hazards.

NBC 10 reached out to OSHA to learn more about these incident reports but did not hear back.
