GALLATIN, Tenn. (WSMV) – A manufacturing business located in Sumner County is set to lay off nearly 100 employees just three days before Thanksgiving, according to a WARN notice from the state.
The ABC Technologies location in Gallatin is planning to lay off a total of 85 Tennesseans on November 24. The state Department of Labor and Workforce Development released a WARN notice this week about the plans.
The announcement comes during a period of transition for ABC Technologies, which calls itself “a global leader in automotive systems and components manufacturing” on its website.
Earlier this year, the company acquired TI Fluid Systems. A press release says the companies are combining and rebranding to become TI Automotive.
“The employees at the facility are not represented by a collective bargaining agreement and do not have bumping rights,” the WARN Notice said. “The Northern Middle Workforce Development Board’s rapid response team, employed by Workforce Essentials, has been notified to coordinate services with the employer and affected employees.”
ABC Technologies did not immediately respond to a request for comment when contacted by WSMV. This story will be updated if we hear back.
